Club World Cup: "I enjoy watching them play," admits Enzo Maresca about PSG, "an incredible team, with the best coach"
The Blues coach spoke to the media two days before the Club World Cup final against Paris.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said on Friday that the image of his Blues, who qualified for Sunday's Club World Cup final against PSG, had changed and was no longer associated, as it was in the past, with transfer spending and the size of their squad.
"Our team deserves all the trust of the fans, because this season we finished in the top four of the Premier League, won the Europa Conference League and are in the final of the (Club) World Cup," said the Italian technician, who arrived in the summer of 2024 to replace the Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino and who has restored the luster of the London club since its acquisition by the BlueCo group in 2022.

Maresca also praised Champions League winners PSG and their coach Luis Enrique as "role models for all football lovers." "We have the utmost respect for what they have shown in France, in Europe and during this World Cup. I enjoy watching them play. They are an incredible team, with the best coach, Pep Guardiola, and incredible players. It won't be easy, but we will give our best and try to win. We have our own style and have shown this season how we do things," he explained.
